It’s been a challenging year and things have not developed the way I expected them to. I think that there are many things in life like that though…

At this point, it’s difficult to say if teaching in Thailand will be a realistic goal, thus moving there may seem more like a dream or wish at this point. There is a climate of requirements that are unreasonable considering my current economic and eductational background. I suspect that things will reveal themselves as they unfold. Without a BA in English Eductation, it is unlikely that I would get hired there as a teacher. Even with a TOEFL course and certificate, it would prove difficult to obtain work as I’m getting older and their schools look for teachers under 35. Also, the ministry of education also audits schools and requires work permits to confirm teachers are qualified and legally entitled to work there. Fair enough, but it’s difficult to justify upgrading my education to travel that far and work for that wage; approximately $1,000 Cdn/month, even with the costof living being 1/3 of what it is in Canada.

However, that being said my renewed focus and resolution is to search for a solution that will allow me to travel there once again with an open mind, heart, and spirit. My journey is to  discover a solution to begin the next chapter of my life.
