So you’re in thailand, you know that you can use any item to access your home account… You insert it and enter your pin. All seems to go along just fine except the machine says that the transaction can’t be completed. You try your pin a few times but no luck…

Yes this happened to me… But luckily I could call on a friend who had lots of experience with this issue…
Not all ATMs will work with your card. Yes check that they are Serrius banking network compliant. Most are there but that’s not enough especially if you have a chip card. This was an issue in 2014, but it may not be true now…but don’t count on it.
So, I’m going to keep track of which machines will work with which cards as I learn them.
Luckily each bank has specific unique colour coded ATMs to make it easier to find “yours”.
